Our Story

Started in October 2020 during uncertain times, Kitsch serves up sandwiches, coffee, and good vibes in our colorful 400-square-foot shop. We’re here to make your day a little brighter.

Who are we?

Kitsch is founded by a former pastry chef who just wants to keep making good food at affordable prices. Her team of absolute rockstars show up every day to spread love in the community, one sandwich at a time. We will learn your name. We will learn your coffee preference.

Why Kitsch? A bit of a double meaning. Cute and short for kitchen? Check. Ironically remarking on our product being for the popular palette and not anything like our former lives of plate wipes and sauce swipes? Also, check. Though Kitsch can mean lowbrow or poor quality, we love the aesthetic. Loud colors, cat clocks and ridiculous art, we wanted to go just the edge of being over the top without going too far. Plus, where better to be Kitsch than Baltimore? We love the knick-knacks in this city. Our little cafe is meant to brighten your day and give you that warm, fuzzy feeling like your grandmother’s house. We dare you to leave without smiling. It’s nearly impossible.

How to best enjoy the Kitsch experience…

We encourage our guests to order online before picking up (unless you’re getting our sandwiches delivered to your door, of course). Our ordering system will give you an estimated time for the preparation of your order. Just wandering in? That’s all good! Just stop in the hallway to peruse the menu before entering to avoid any traffic jams. Our space is exceptionally small and can get crowded quickly.

Everything we prepare is takeout! We have extremely limited seating (literally 2 two-top tables).

We would love to bring it to your car! If you would rather stay in your vehicle we will gladly deliver to your car window, please choose CURBSIDE TAKEOUT and identify your vehicle.
